Hungarians visiting Ii in 2015

The Hungarians came to Finland on Friday night. They were accommodated by host families, which we had decided earlier.

Saturday:
Some of us took the Hungarians with us and brought them to visit Oulu.
They spent the evening with their host families.

Sunday:
Some of the Hungarians were watching reindeer racing and some of them went on a snowmobile ride.

Monday:
We came to school at 8.30 am and we had a magic show by Aleksi Tolonen and a music performance by Riikka Suutari and Antti Niiranen. After that the Hungarians gave us a presentation about themselves and their country. We spent the afternoon at KulttuuriKauppila art centre. We made some wearable art. In the evening we went to eat some pizza with some last year students.

Tuesday:
We came to school at 8.30.am and we had normal lessons. The afternoon we spent at the stables at Ylirannan ratsutila. We walked around the stables and we looked around. The stable owner offered us sleigh rides and a horse ride. Almost everyone went on horseback.  We ate some sausages and drank hot drinks. In the evening we went to Noora's place to watch a movie and eat some traditional candy and berries.

Wednesday:
On Wednesday we went to the SnowCastle of Kemi. We left at 12pm, and before that we had one English lesson at school.
We went to Kemi by bus and we also had our English teacher, Juha Pukari, with us. When we got to the SnowCastle we started the tour.
This year The SnowCastle of Kemi was celebrating its 20th anniversary. We saw many incredibly great sculptures and even Santa Claus was there.
When we had seen the whole castle, we went to eat and did some shopping. After that it was late and we headed back to Ii.

Thursday:
Thursday was the last whole day when the Hungarians were here. We spent the day at school, doing video projects in little groups.
Everybody got their videos finished and we watched them together. The videos were mixtures of Finnish and Hungarian.
After the videos, our headmaster thanked the Hungarian students and they all got a present to take home with them.

Friday:

It was time to say good-bye.  We hope our friends enjoyed their stay and we look forward to seeing them again.
